Story
Unfortunately in May I lost one of my best friends, Peter Hind, to cancer.
The care he received from the amazing staff at St Wilfrid's hospice was truly exceptional and they also took brilliant care of those of us left behind.
St Wilfrid's is run entirely on donations so I'm hoping to put a little bit back in by running a half marathon to raise money for their wonderful work.
The half marathon is the South Coast Run Series half marathon on Seaford promenade on the 11th if August - feel free to come down and hurl abuse at me!
I've included information about St Wilfrid's Hospice (Eastbourne) below.
We provide specialist care for people with any progressive, advanced life-limiting illness. Referrals are made by the patient's GP or other healthcare professionals and care is delivered by a team that includes consultants in palliative medicine, specialist nurses, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, counsellors and social workers.
We want to see a community where people talk openly about dying, live well until the end of their life and where nobody dies alone, afraid or in pain.
